Having kept quiet for some time, Adobe has finally announced that Creative Suite 5 — an updated collection of all its major software — will be released on April 12th. Little other information has been disclosed, except that the company is planning to host a launch event on AdobeTV. People must visit the main Adobe website to register for access.

A particular focus of the new suite should be Photoshop CS5, which among other things is expected to gain its first 64-bit support on the Mac. Adobe is also emphasizing Flash, as developers will for instance be able to generate native iPhone apps based on Flash code. The company is also thought to be adding a completely new title to the suite, possibly involving design or print.
